Health Fair Calls to Take Care of your Heart

Pioneers Memorial Healthcare District along with the Mexican Consulate and Ventanilla de Salud partners hosted a Heart Health Resource Fair on Friday, February 15.

The third annual “Love you Heart” event brought together more than 20 local healthcare agencies on the grounds of the Mexican Consulate in Calexico where services like blood pressure checks and flu shots will be available to the community.

Several residents attended the event not just to get their blood pressure checked but also received information about from other agencies that can help them in their daily lives.

Being that Imperial Valley suffers of a lot of respiratory problems and high obesity, this event was designed to help and educate residents about their health so they can avoid heart problems.

This is an event that only takes place in border cities in the United States through the Mexican consulate network and Ventanilla de Salud.
