With the aim of strengthening cooperation and community well-being in the binational region between Mexico and the United States, Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda held a meeting in Tijuana with the Consul General of Mexico in San Diego, Ambassador Alicia Kerber Palma.
During the meeting, Marina del Pilar highlighted the importance of these relationships to promote transversal policies that advocate for inclusion and gender equality, as well as to improve security and social development in the region. In addition, she highlighted the promotion of the benefits of Baja California to attract foreign tourists.
In this strategic meeting, crucial topics were discussed such as collaboration with the Baja California Women’s Justice Center and One Safe Place in San Diego. Likewise, tourism promotion was discussed through the Casa México project, which is scheduled to launch in 2025.
The meeting’s constructive and purposeful dialogue focused on identifying areas of mutual cooperation and fostering partnerships that benefit both sides of the border. The governor emphasized that the Tijuana-San Diego region is closely interconnected and that, by promoting joint initiatives that ensure a safe and respectful environment, as well as by implementing projects that promote cultural and economic exchange, both cities strengthen each other.
