Governor Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda announced the launch of the “Seed Capital” 2024 program to strengthen entrepreneurship in Baja California through financial support, training, and mentorship. This program is focused on reducing inequality gaps and supporting entrepreneurs in the region.
The governor emphasized the importance of entrepreneurship as a crucial driving force for inclusive and sustainable development in Baja California. Through the Secretary of Economy and Innovation, programs are implemented to support the dreams of Baja Californians. “We are allocating 4.5 million pesos to support initiatives, creativity, and productivity, benefiting both families and communities and reducing inequality gaps,” she stated.
The “Seed Capital” program offers entrepreneurs the opportunity to receive up to 25,000 pesos for equipment and working capital. Priority will be given to sectors with the greatest need, with a special focus on job creation, self-employment, and the transition to established businesses, all with a gender perspective and social and economic inclusion.
Michelle Guerrero Jaimes, Undersecretary of Economic Development, explained that this resource is available to individuals residing in the state who are over 18 years old, with a maximum of six months from the start of their business. Eligibility criteria can be consulted on the program’s official website.
Applications will be received at the Citizen Service Directorate offices in various locations in Mexicali, Tijuana, Ensenada, Tecate, San Felipe, and San Quintín. The governor reiterated that the procedures are personal and free, reaffirming her commitment to promoting entrepreneurship in Baja California, and providing the necessary tools for citizens to build a future with dignity and hope.
