ENSENADA, B.C.- In the framework of the “Salon del Vino” event, the Governor of the State, Francisco Vega de Lamadrid, accompanied by the Secretary of Tourism of the Federal Government, Miguel Torruco Marqués, inaugurated the XXIX edition of the Wine Harvest Festival 2019, which starts the annual program, consisting of 35 events and the participation of 62 wine houses.
During his participation, the State Executive stressed that Mexican wine is going through a historic moment, such as the promulgation of the Law for the Promotion of Wine Industry, to regulate, promote, market, advertise and disseminate activities related to the Mexican wine sector, which he promoted when he served as Federal Secretary and resumed at the National Conference of Governors, in order to promote the generation of jobs and impacting not only Baja California but the entire country.
Baja California is internationally recognized for the quality of its wines and has received a significant amount of awards, so with this edition of the Wine Harvest Festivities, it is expected to receive more than 100 thousand attendees during the 25 days of this celebration.
During his message, the Governor announced the start-up of the construction of the new airport in Ojos Negros, which will be a trigger for the economic development of the region, but it will be of great value for the general population.
After the inauguration, the State Governor along with the Secretary of Federal Tourism, toured the exhibition booths consisting of high-end wines and gastronomic samples, accompanied by the Hotel Coral & Marina Manager, Andrés Martínez; the Chairman of the PRO-Vino Committee, Fernando Pérez Castro; of the Municipal Presidency of Ensenada, Marco Antonio Novelo Osuna and the Nissan Manager, Manuel Pérez, among other special guests.
