Free Farmworker Health and Wellness Fair

Imperial Valley College, Sun Community Federal Credit Union, Imperial Valley Vegetable Growers Association, and Vo Neighborhood Medical Center have partnered together to hold a free farmworker health and wellness fair for farmworkers and their families on December 2, 2021, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Imperial Valley College.

This family-friendly health and wellness fair will have free services including, health screenings, blood pressure checks, flu shots, COVID-19 vaccines/boosters provided by Vo Neighborhood Medical Center.

Additional services offered by Imperial Valley College will be English as a Second Language program information, workforce preparation course, higher education legal service, and free tuition information, as well as enrolling in direct deposit, opening a savings/checking account, and general financial wellness offered by Sun Community Federal Credit Union.

“We are very excited to come together as a community in collaboration and partnership with Imperial Valley Vegetable Growers Association, Imperial Valley College, Sun Community Federal Credit Union, and Vo Neighborhood Medical Center, and to be able to finally bring forward this wonderful event,” said IVC Trustee Karla Sigmond. “Our mission is to identify and provide resources related to health and wellness, financial literacy, and development of the workforce to our farm workers and their families so they may live productive, healthy, and happy lives. Thus, our Imperial Valley community becomes stronger and access to quality of life is shared by all.”

Those who do not have reliable transportation are eligible to receive free transportation to the Farmworker Health and Wellness Fair through Imperial County Transit. For more information, please contact 760-355-6509.
