FIFA has unveiled the shortlist of nominees for The Best FIFA Football Awards 2024, celebrating a year of remarkable achievements in both men’s and women’s football at the club and national levels. These prestigious accolades honor the sport’s top performers, highlighting the global reach and passion that football inspires.

Voting is now open on FIFA.com, allowing fans to play a critical role in determining winners across categories such as The Best FIFA Men’s Player, The Best FIFA Women’s Player, and more. The unique voting system combines input from fans, media representatives, and national team captains and coaches, ensuring a balanced and comprehensive process.

FIFA has introduced new opportunities for fan involvement this year. For the first time, fans can help select The Best FIFA Men’s 11 and The Best FIFA Women’s 11 from a pool of 77 nominees, which includes 22 defenders, midfielders, and forwards, along with 11 goalkeepers. Fans can use preset tactical formations to create their ideal teams, with voting equally weighted between them and an expert panel.

The shortlists feature football’s brightest stars. Women’s Player nominees include Aitana Bonmatí (Spain), Mallory Swanson (USA), and Salma Paralluelo (Spain), showcasing the sport’s global talent. Among the men, Lionel Messi (Argentina) and Jude Bellingham (England) lead the charge with stellar performances. Coaching excellence is highlighted with nominees such as Pep Guardiola (Manchester City) and Emma Hayes (Chelsea/USA), while goalkeepers like Mary Earps (England) and Emiliano Martínez (Argentina) demonstrate unmatched defensive prowess.

The FIFA Puskás Award has been redefined to honor the best goal in men’s football, irrespective of competition or nationality. To complement this, FIFA introduced the FIFA Marta Award, named after the legendary Brazilian player, to recognize the best goal in women’s football worldwide. Additionally, fans will have sole control over selecting the winner of the FIFA Fan Award, while the FIFA Fair Play Award will be decided by an expert panel.

Fans have until 23:59 CET on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, to cast their votes on FIFA.com. Full voting rules and award details can be accessed through the FIFA Digital Hub.
