The highly anticipated Fiestas del Sol 2024 officially opened its gates at 6:50 PM on September 27, welcoming thousands of families eager to immerse themselves in a vibrant atmosphere of entertainment, culture, and tradition. This year’s festival promises to be an unforgettable experience, running from September 27 to October 13, with an exciting lineup of games, attractions, and cultural exhibits.
Mexicali Mayor Norma Bustamante said she was proud of the organizing committee which brought new things to Fiestas Del Sol such as a place to support the local entrepreneurs.
“That’s why we say this one will be the coolest yet, the Mayor said.
The festival introduced this year’s “Embajadora de Fiestas del Sol,” young Andrea Isabel García, who will play an important role in promoting the cherished traditions of the festival among families.
FEX Director Ismael Castro thanked everyone who has been involved in the organization of the event and brought together something that the people of Mexicali deserve.
“We need to be proud to have a fair that is at the level our residents deserve,” Castro said.
This year’s festival features several new pavilions that enhance the experience for attendees. The innovative areas include Hacienda del Norte, Mexicali Emprende, Asphalt City, Cerveza Artesanal, Zona Geek, Cimarron, Aztlán, Chinesca, and Barzon. Additionally, visitors can explore Plaza Cucapá, Expo Arte Imacum, Zona Infantil, the Carretera Musical, thrilling mechanical rides, and the Expo MXL Serie del Caribe.
General admission for the Fiestas del Sol is set at a modest price of 60 pesos, providing access to a wealth of entertainment and cultural experiences. For those seeking an upgraded experience, VIP tickets are also available.
The entertainment lineup is particularly noteworthy this year, featuring an array of talented artists performing on the Islas de las Estrellas stage. Highlights include Remmy Valenzuela on Friday, September 27; Grupo Clasificado on Saturday, September 28; Moenia on Sunday, September 29; Redimi2 on Monday, September 30; Enjambre on Tuesday, October 1; Maldita Vecindad on Wednesday, October 2; Ximena Sariñana on Thursday, October 3; Danny Lux on Friday, October 4; Grupo Recluta on Saturday, October 5; Mr. Pig Bautista on Sunday, October 6; YNG LVCAS on Monday, October 7; Banda Renovación on Tuesday, October 8; DLD on Wednesday, October 9; Gondwana on Thursday, October 10; Su Majestad la Brisa on Friday, October 11; Matisse on Saturday, October 12; and Virlan García on Sunday, October 13.
