FIBROMYALGIA, MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS AND MESENCHIMAL STEM CELLS

By: Dr. Elton Luis  Gómez, stem-cells specialist

Stem cells are shown to slow the progression of the disease and eliminate symptoms.

It is called sclerosis, the pathological hardening of a tissue or organism that is due to the abnormal and progressive increase of connective tissue cells that form its structure; mainly applies to the blood vessels and the nervous system.

Multiple sclerosis (or sclerosis in plaques) is a progressive disease of the central nervous system that causes multiple lesions in the myelin that covers the axons of neurons and constitutes the white substance, in the form of disseminated plaques; manifests with various symptoms such as paralysis of the lower extremities, tingling, loss of sensitivity, etc.

It is demonstrated that the infusion of mesenchymal stem cells, whether cultured or the patient’s own, in a specific dose, according to the patient’s weight, slows the progression of the disease and reverses the symptoms.

Stem cells, or also called stem cells, improve the patient’s immune system making them less reactive to stimuli, and this is done through a network of transcription factors and instructions derived from the substances that produce those cells, through the so-called exosomes, which are micro-scaled nanometrics, which carry the instructions in the form of messenger RNA, these make the tissues that receive them begin physiological functions of repair and regeneration.
