The Mexican rock band led by Álex Lora, EL TRI, will play this Friday, 20 in Tijuana and Saturday, 21 in Mexicali, in the framework of the XVI October Festival 2017 organized by the Government of the State through the Institute of Culture of Baja California (ICBC) in coordination with the Secretary of Culture. Admission is free.
The concerts will be in Morelos Park (Tijuana) and in the Center of Fairs, Events and Exhibitions (FEX, Mexicali). There will be invited groups in both cities.
Doors open at 7:00 p.m. and music will play from 7:30 p.m. In Tijuana, El Maestro del rock, Pachuco Blues and San Pedro El Cortez will be participating. And in Mexicali, Musical Zoo, Son of Palo and La Sucursal de la Cumbia.
EL TRI, one of the biggest blockbuster bands in Mexico and Latin America, with more than four decades active experimenting with rock and blues sounds. Its current members are Álex Lora, Chela Lora, Charly, Lalo Toral, Lalo Chico, Óscar Zárate, Ramón, Alejandro Álvarez Luz.
Throughout his career he has sold more than 30 million records. They have five nominations for the Grammy Award, category Best Rock Album in Spanish, for the albums: Cuando tú no estás (1998), Fin de Siglo (End of Century) (1999), No podemos volar (We can’t fly) (2001), and 35 Años y lo que falta todavía (2005); as well as Best Vocal Rock Album Duo or Group, by Álex Lora: From Three to El Tri (40 rolas del alma. Mi mente y mi aferracion (My mind and My grasp) (2009).
