Ensenada, B. C.- With the objective of carrying out a joint work that strengthens the wine industry of Baja California, through the realization of academic-cultural activities; carrying out research, development, and technology transfer projects; the joint development of human resource training programs; and the realization of programs of professional practices, social service and professional internships of students, CETYS University International Campus Ensenada and the Provino Baja California Committee signed a collaboration agreement.
During her speech, Professor Jessica Ibarra Ramonet, Coastal Zone Director of CETYS University, highlighted that beyond the existing relationship as of 2019 through the Center for Wine Studies of Baja California at CETYS University (CEVIT), it is important to capitalize on everything that this study center has, to support the development of social impact projects, in this case, the wine sector of Baja California.
“Current conditions allow us to work remotely for the moment, but I am sure that it can be triggered interesting projects that will positively impact the wine sector and involve not only our students and academics but many of our areas such as the High Impact Business Incubator and the Centers of Excellence active on Campus”, emphasized the Director of Coast Zone.
For its part, Santiago Cosío Pando (MBA), President of the Provino Baja California Committee, said that one of the main lines of action of the Non-profit organization he has presided since the beginning of 2020 is its institutional strengthening, through which it seeks to establish agreements with various types of entities, including academic ones.
“With these actions, we seek to strengthen our members, 67 so far, their production processes, training, education, and expansion of capacities. Signing this agreement is essential and strategic for the restructuring that we are carrying out within the organization, and it constitutes a new way of providing support to our members, among others that we are carrying out with others and new lines of action,” said Cosío Pando.
The signing of the agreement was carried out taking into account all the preventive measures issued by the Ministry of Health to prevent the spread of COVID-19, also, after the signing, the authorities present learned about the progress of CEVIT’s work and how it will be integrated into the activities and infrastructure of CETYS University International Campus in Ensenada.
The signing of the agreement was attended by ProVino members: MBA Santiago Cosío Pando, President, and Legal Representative; Wences Martínez, Treasurer; Mauricio Cantú, Secretary; Ing. Alberto Verdeja Ayala, witness and leader of the Strengthening Subcommittee; Fernanda Escobosa Castañeda, witness and Director of Provino; and Karla Lee, Public Relations Director. On the other hand, on behalf of CETYS were: Professor Jessica Ibarra Ramonet, Costa Zone Director; Efraín Leree, Director of Institutional Advancement of the Ensenada Campus; and the MCI. Oscar Meza Arballo, Coordinator of Academic Linkage.
