BINATIONAL MEETING OF TOURISM AUTHORITIES OF THE GREAT CALI-BAJA REGION TOOK PLACE

As part of the activities by the City Council of Méxicali, through the Mexicali Tourism and Conventions Committee, the director of the part municipal entity, Nancy Paola Minor Ibarra, and the President of the Advisory Council Miguel Ángel Torres Sánchez attended an important meeting binational between tourist authorities of the city of San Diego and the State of Baja California.

At the invitation of the Consul General of Mexico in San Diego, Carlos González Gutiérrez, as well as the consul of the tourism department, Alberto Lozano Merino, a working meeting was held with the executive director of the San Diego Tourism Authority (SDTA), Julie Coker, the Secretary of Tourism for Baja California, Miguel Aguiñiga Rodríguez; as well as the participation of the directors of COTUCO Tijuana, Rosarito, and Pro-Turismo Ensenada.

During the meeting, they highlighted the importance of friendship between the borders of California and Baja California, as well as the needs of the sector after the health contingency of COVID-19.

Similarly, the collaborative work of joint projects and visions was pointed out, reinforcing the needs of each municipality.

For his part, Aguíñiga highlighted the communication that exists in the municipalities, and that this administration will work for the best tourism project for everyone.

Similarly, the director of COTUCO Mexicali Minor highlighted the attractions of the city, such as craft beer, gastronomy, fusion with Asian cultures as well as attractions such as the only navigable river in Baja California, the Hardy River, hunting tourism, and the renowned dunes for activities such as Sandboarding.

It should be noted the invitation made to those present to visit and visit the capital of Baja California, to strengthen ties of friendship and work, as well as the participation of COTUCO in various events organized by the San Diego Tourism Authority, to reinforce and promote the activity tourist in that city.
