For their contribution to job creation, economic growth, and productive development in the region, more than 80 local companies were recognized by the Government of Ensenada with the 2024 Business Award.
The Mayor of Ensenada, Armando Ayala Robles, recognized the business people for sharing their experiences and stories, but above all for making Ensenada a fruitful city with opportunities for the population.
Ayala Robles highlighted the value that each one of them has and gives to this municipality, from a small pastry shop, a customs agency, or an international brand that is installed in the port, to the hotel sector that receives visitors from different parts of the world to visit places of interest or attend sporting, gastronomic and other events.
The municipal president considered that the business sector deserves all the facilities to settle in Ensenada and ensure that all economic sectors join the value chain that benefits everyone equally.
He maintained that during his administration he has focused efforts on carrying out a good government, close to the business community, with vision, commitment, and projects.
In that sense, he highlighted projects such as the IMSS specialty hospital, and the modernization of the Chapultepec-Maneadero section, and thus speed up urban and tourist traffic.
Armando Ayala also thanked the contribution of the private initiative to improve the city of Ensenada or support vulnerable communities, such as Energía Costa Azul and Grupo Oxxo, who through various programs have joined the work carried out by the government under their responsibility.
For her part, the director of Economic Development, Lucía Guadalupe Aguirre Inzunza, explained that the purpose of this award is to recognize the trajectory of companies, their work history, example of life, and their legacy for this city, as well as to inspire new generations. of the sector and have a vision of social responsibility.
In addition to this, she said, it promotes the principles of excellence, innovation, and business competitiveness.
For this delivery, companies from the tourism, logistics, industrial, agricultural, commercial, real estate, technological, mobility, academic and other sectors were considered.
Likewise, the general director of Grupo Calimax, Sergio Borrayo González, said that it is always satisfactory that the sector is recognized and to see those who promote the economic, labor, and social movement of Ensenada every day.
“We know that there are great stories behind each company and this award is a great initiative by the Municipal Government to highlight their efforts. It is not easy to deal with health and economic crises, inflation, and other problems, but they continue to fight to continue generating jobs,” Borrayo González reiterated.
On behalf of the Government of Baja California, Michelle Guerrero Jaimes, Undersecretary of Economic Development in the Ministry of Economy and Innovation, mentioned the importance of recognizing the work of each of the companies for their dedication and significant contribution to economic development.
“Congratulations to each of the award-winning companies, for their achievements and contributions that are not only reflected in the financial balances but in the positive impact they have had on the lives of the inhabitants of Ensenada,” she said.
Ericka González Pickett, councilor and president of the Tourism Commission, highlighted that economic development is a key element for the advancement, future, and well-being of the municipalities, which is why granting awards to each of the vocations that the port has is relevant.
