“The Chamber’s interest in hosting the debate is to offer voters throughout El Centro a forum to hear candidates’ positions on important issues,” said Anne Irigoyen, President of the El Centro Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau.
The community is encouraged to log in and participate in the debates. Voters will have an opportunity to submit questions before the event to the El Centro Chamber via email at info@elcentrochamber.com (as well as in the live-chat option during the event) that will be directed to the candidates during the debate segment of the event.
“The El Centro Chamber is recognized for being the voice of business for issues affecting the economic well-being of our community,” said Anthony Moreno, Chief Operating Officer of the El Centro Chamber. “Our community is faced with a number of challenges as we continue to recover from the effects of COVID-19, and it is important that the candidates elected are up to the task of making decisions that will benefit both the residents of El Centro and its businesses.”
The debate will be broadcast via Zoom and the El Centro Chambers Facebook page. No campaign paraphernalia will be allowed during the debates.
