ECRMC Foundation Receives Donation from Union Bank

-Editorial

The El Centro Regional Medical Center Foundation was awarded a total of $25,000 by Union Bank in order to assist the hospital during the COVID-19 pandemic. Union Bank’s donation to the foundation has helped secure critical equipment for the patients and staff members of El Centro Regional Medical Center (ECRMC).

With these funds, the ECRMC Foundation was able to purchase pulse oximeters for COVID-19 positive patients returning home after a stay at ECRMC. These devices help patients monitor their oxygen levels so that they can seek medical attention if their levels become too low.

Through the donation, additional powered air-purifying respirators (PAPRs) were also purchased for frontline employees. PAPRs filter out contaminants and particulates to provide employees with clean filtered air. The Foundation was also able to purchase quantitative fit testing machines that are used to find the best fitting N95 mask for employees. With this purchase, fit testing can be done quickly and efficiently, and employees have assured the highest level of protection when caring for COVID-19 patients.

“We are so pleased to provide this donation to such a deserving organization. The El Centro Regional Medical Center and its staff are a vital part of the community in El Centro and this is our way of showing our support and gratitude for all they have done to help combat COVID-19,” said Union Bank Regional President Robbin Narike Preciado.
