-Editorial

The Secretary of Economy and Innovation (SEI) and the Center for Competitiveness of Mexico (CCMX) have announced the second edition of CREO MX, which will take place at the Mercado Cine Curto on Tuesday, October 8, starting at 1 PM. This event aims to promote the development of entrepreneurs and micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Baja California and is expected to host over 500 entrepreneurs from the state.

Juan Carlos Ostolaza, the General Director of CCMX, emphasized that CREO MX is based on a unique support model centered around three main axes: training, growth, and networking. “Our approach is not only to support entrepreneurs but also to provide them with a platform to connect with business experts and create opportunities that favor their development,” Ostolaza explained.

During the 2023 edition held in Tijuana, more than a thousand entrepreneurs from various regions of Baja California participated, allowing them to connect and learn best business practices. This year, the event will move to Mexicali, a location that represents not only the economic dynamism of the state but also part of its historical heritage.

Michelle Guerrero Jaimes, the Undersecretary of Economic Development of Baja California, stressed the importance of SMEs in the state’s economy. “Entrepreneurs are fundamental to our support strategy. That is why, together with CCMX, we are committed to providing renowned experts and creating an ecosystem that promotes entrepreneurship at both the local and national levels.”

Ostolaza also mentioned that “CREO MX is not just an event; it is a movement.” Its goal is to help entrepreneurs turn their ideas into concrete actions and, for those who already have established businesses, to consolidate their companies in a competitive environment. He acknowledged that this sector is the main generator of employment in the country, making it essential to create opportunities that facilitate their entrepreneurial journey.

Notable participants at the Mexicali edition will include Jesús “Chucho Ramírez,” a speaker and former soccer player, who will share his experience and advice with attendees. Larry Rubin, President of the American Society of Mexico, will also be present to provide insights on how to exponentially position a company.

Additionally, two workshops will be conducted by Grupo Coppel and Traversone, aimed at enhancing the business skills of attendees. In the Mercadito Emprendedor, a space dedicated to showcasing local products, 14 entrepreneurs will present their creations and products made in Baja California.

The event will also feature successful regional entrepreneurs such as Emmanuel González, founder of Pinturas “El Perico”; Kenia Vidal García, President of the Mexicali Microbrewers Association; Ana Noriega Villanueva, founder of Wrap Express; and Adrián Gabriel Ortega, director of La Bolsita de Mexicali. They will share their success stories and the importance of entrepreneurship in Baja California.

The presentation of CREO MX brought together leaders and members of business chambers and organizations, educational institutions, and groups of entrepreneurs. Those interested in participating can register through the official website www.creomx.com/mexicali.

The Center for Competitiveness of Mexico (CCMX) is an initiative of the Mexican Business Council (CMN) that seeks to promote the development and growth of SMEs through an integration model in supply chains and professionalization. It offers a unique approach that includes four programs: consulting, training, networking, and financial management, all designed to maximize the potential of entrepreneurs and businesses in the country.
