COVID-19 Cases Have a Significant Increase in Imperial Valley

The Imperial County Health Department gave their daily update regarding COVID-19 showing a significant increase in the last couple of days.

The number of cases went from 9 to 17 confirmed cases in Imperial Valley in just a couple of days. There are still 11 cases pending test results. To date, there has been 114 suspected case that resulted in negative.

Of the eight recent cases, five are recovering at home and three are hospitalized.

These are the recommendations to avoid the Coronavirus.

Wash your hands frequently

Regularly and thoroughly clean your hands with an alcohol-based hand rub or wash them with soap and water.

Maintain social distancing

Maintain at least 1 meter (3 feet) distance between yourself and anyone who is coughing or sneezing.

Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth

Hands touch many surfaces and can pick up viruses. Once contaminated, hands can transfer the virus to your eyes, nose or mouth. From there, the virus can enter your body and can make you sick.
