In an ongoing partnership with the U.S. Embassy’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL), the Mexicali Municipal Public Security Directorate (DSPM) is participating in specialized training on narcotics and criminal analysis. The courses are being taught by instructors from the National Police of Colombia.
The commitment to continuous training and adherence to the highest standards of police evaluation is a priority for Mexicali Police Director Mtro. Pedro Ariel Mendívil. A total of 60 DSPM officers are taking part in the courses, which are being conducted at the Mexicali Police Academy over the next two weeks.
This collaboration with the Colombian National Police is a valuable asset, as their expertise in these areas serves as a crucial tool in strengthening strategic actions to combat crime. The goal is to enhance the safety and security of Mexicali residents through more effective law enforcement practices.
The training includes a 120-hour course titled “Strategic Analysis for the Control of Drug Dealing and Associated Manifestations” and an 80-hour course on “Criminal Analysis,” both of which are classroom-based.
The instructors leading the training are Chief Inspectors Juan David Vásquez Isaza and Wilmar Antonio Parra Quiceno, along with Inspectors Óscar David Brice Cruz, Diego Raúl Marulanda Castaño, Diego Nelson Daza Paz, and Sub-Inspector Claudia Patricia Miranda Mahecha.
