-Editorial

Chef Beto Gonzalez is a name synonymous with authenticity, passion, and innovation in the realm of Mexicali cuisine. As a prominent figure in the culinary world, Chef Beto has played a pivotal role in positioning Mexicali as a hub for gastronomic excellence and has ventured successfully to places like San Diego.

Born and raised in Mexicali, he cultivated a profound appreciation for the culinary arts and an unwavering desire to showcase his unique talent to the world.

CUATRO Restaurant in Mexicali, known for serving the city’s finest cuisine, attracted many visitors. Unfortunately, the pandemic forced Chef to close its doors due to restrictions and a lack of business.

Taking a hiatus from his day-to-day work and spending time in San Diego, Chef Beto realized that the time had come to return and open a new restaurant in his beloved hometown of Mexicali.

Together with his son, Chef Beto decided to establish Aldeano, a new dining establishment set to open on September 22, located at Plaza Calle Novena.

“We are back in our hometown thanks to the motivation of my son and partner, who encouraged me to open this restaurant,” Chef Beto remarked.

His son, Beto Gonzalez Jr., expressed their desire to contribute to the community as the driving force behind their decision to reopen.

“When we closed, we carried the aspiration of reopening someday,” Gonzalez Jr. explained. “We never truly left, which is why the name ‘Aldeano’ was chosen. It represents our fusion of rural and urban influences, and this place is our home.”
