It was Daniel Goleman who first introduced to the world the concept of emotional intelligence, thanks to his book 1995 book, Emotional Intelligence, a New York Times bestseller list for a year-and-a-half, the concept was introduced and has changed the way successful people do business.

“By teaching people to tune in to their emotions with intelligence and to expand their circles of caring, we can transform organizations from the inside out and make a positive difference in our world,” Daniel Goleman.

CETYS University recently announced that they will be offering a certificate for students that want to take this course so they can improve the emotional intelligence that will benefit them in their academic career and personal life especially during these times of uncertainty that most students are living since they don’t have the interaction they had with family and friends.

The participant will discover adolescence as a growth stage in which they can develop the personal skills that determine self-control and the social skills that will allow them to establish effective relationships, thereby improving their personal and academic skills.

This course is target to teenagers between the ages of 13 and 18 who accept the challenge of committing and taking responsibility for themselves.

Alma Gurrola, coach, teacher, researcher, and speaker spoke to the Beyond Borders Gazette on Instagram about this diploma in an interview conducted on May 12. She has a broad curriculum in the area of Human Development.

She is the leader in social projects that pay for the education and training of vulnerable sectors of society as well as in specialized training projects in Emotional Intelligence to enhance the opportunity areas of companies. Some of her clients are Cervecería Cuauhtemoc Moctezuma, CFE, Kenworth among others.

“We want to have our students take advantage of this moment as an opportunity to grow and learn how to handle themselves and learn how to interact with others,” Gurrola said.

The benefit of taking this course is to learn more about self-awareness and have students make better decisions and handle stress.

“We are also helping them cope with anxiety and if they are suffering from depression we help them to self-motivate themselves since self-motivation is an important part of emotional intelligence,” she said.

The courses will begin on May 22nd and will take place on Saturdays via Zoom. For more information about how to enroll please contact CETYS University Campus Mexicali.
