CETYS to work with MIT and Babson to drive entrepreneurship in the Cali-Baja Region

Entrepreneurs and innovators in Southern California and Northwestern Mexico will benefit from recent partnerships established by CETYS University, ranked among the top universities in Mexico, and two Massachusetts-based schools of higher education that are leaders in their fields: MIT and Babson College.

Adding to its 80+ global alliances, CETYS is fine-tuning the MIT Mexico-CETYS Fund, which will encourage participation by MIT students enrolled in its Global Teaching Labs and Global Start-up Labs at one of CETYS’ campuses.

MIT Global Startup Labs promotes development in emerging regions by cultivating young technology entrepreneurs. CETYS students will learn and experience the process of innovating and building a technology startup while top MIT students will have the chance to be exposed to a different culture, explore a new country, and expand upon their MIT education, whilst being trained and funded to teach technology incubator courses.

CETYS will also join The Babson Collaborative for Entrepreneurship Education. Membership is composed of institutions from around the globe seeking to build and grow their capacity in entrepreneurship education. Babson College is ranked by U.S. News and World Reports as the number 1 undergraduate school for entrepreneurship in the United States.

Partnering with these top tier institutions with expertise in engineering and entrepreneurship will work towards CETYS’ goal of becoming one of the top universities in Latin America in entrepreneurship and innovation by 2020, as well as continuing to build win-win partnerships that increase both countries’ competitiveness.
