CETYS STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN DUAL DEGREE CEREMONY IN WASHINGTON

More than 50 CETYS Universidad students from the three campuses were part of the Graduation Ceremony of CETYS and City University of Seattle (City U) Double Degree Program, in Washington, Seattle.

During the 42nd City U Graduation Ceremony at the Seattle Center Key Arena, 53 undergraduates received their Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Management and Applied Psychology from City University’s President, Dr. Randy C. Frisch and Dr. Alberto Gárate, CETYS Provost.

“This marks one step further in CETYS’ internationalization initiatives, and what we can do to offer our students a global vision”, said Dr. Alberto Gárate.

Three CETYS collaborators also received their Doctoral Degree in Education and Leadership during this ceremony: Dr. Carlos H. García, Director of Institutional Affairs, Dr. Eduardo Díaz, Coordinator of International Affairs in Campus Tijuana, and Dra. Laura Carrillo, Institutional Advisor.

The total number of students graduated from the Double Degree Program in 2017 amounted to more than 100, of which 45 are from Mexicali, 57 from Tijuana and 4 from Ensenada.  They received their Diploma in graduation ceremonies held in Baja California, and attended by Dr. Kurt Kirstein, representing City U.

The Double Degree program allows students to obtain a university degree in Mexico as well as the United States. The binational program has been active for 12 years, with nearly 500 students as alumni.

CETYS Universidad continues to strengthen internationalization as a distinctive element in its academic offer, contributing to the education of people with the moral and intellectual capacity to be agents of change in their communities, wherever these may be.
