U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is inviting job seekers interested in federal law enforcement careers to attend an in-person Resume and Application Workshop on Thursday, November 7, 2024, in El Centro.
The workshop, held at the Imperial County Workforce Development Office at 1250 W. Main Street, will run from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet CBP recruiters who will provide comprehensive information about career paths as a CBP Officer or Border Patrol Agent (BPA).
CBP recruiters will guide attendees through essential topics, including resume and job application requirements, specific job qualifications, and step-by-step hiring process guidance. Those interested in a CBP career are encouraged to bring a laptop and current resume for review by CBP National Recruiters. Recruiters will also be available to answer questions and offer insights into federal law enforcement roles. CBP Officers enforce over 400 laws related to trade, contraband, and public health, while Border Patrol Agents (BPAs) safeguard 1,900 miles along the U.S.-Mexico border, 5,000 miles with Canada, and the coastal waters of Puerto Rico and Florida.
