The Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) is gearing up for its State of the Tourism Industry Conference (SOTIC) 2024, scheduled for September 2-6, 2024, at the Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort & Spa. Themed “Caribbean Tourism – Fueling our Lifeblood,” SOTIC 2024 will assemble a distinguished roster of regional and global leaders, thought leaders, decision-makers, and influencers to tackle critical issues affecting the Caribbean tourism sector.

The conference will begin with the CTO’s business proceedings on September 2-3, which will include sessions for the Board of Directors and the Ministerial Council. Highlighting this year’s event is the Regional Tourism Youth Congress on September 5, where “Junior Ministers of Tourism” (students aged 14-17) from CTO member countries will compete to become youth ambassadors.

Kenneth Bryan, CTO Chairman and Minister of Tourism and Ports of the Cayman Islands expressed his excitement: “We are particularly delighted to host this prestigious event in the Cayman Islands this September. It is an honor to bring together the best and brightest minds in our industry to address critical challenges, explore innovative solutions, and chart a course for the future of Caribbean tourism. We also look forward to showcasing our Caymankind culture and special brand of hospitality to delegates from around the world.”

SOTIC 2024 will feature a comprehensive program with presentations from leading figures in technology, aviation, cruise, and sustainability. A forward-looking session will delve into the AI revolution in Caribbean travel, exploring how artificial intelligence is transforming customer experiences, operational efficiencies, and destination management.

Attendees can expect insights into emerging technologies, the evolving landscape of air and cruise travel, and innovative approaches to sustainable tourism development. Dona Regis-Prosper, CTO Secretary-General and CEO, noted, “Tourism is the region’s primary economic driver, and SOTIC provides an essential platform for strategic discussions on fostering competitiveness and sustainable growth. The Caribbean’s tourism sector has shown remarkable resilience and adaptability in recent years, and now is the time to build on that momentum.”
