The Calexico Rotary Club presented a food box donation to VO MEDICAL CENTER that will be used to help feed COVID-19 patients.
This was possible in conjunction with the Imperial Valley Food Bank. Rotarians present at the event were Club President Hortencia Armendariz and President-Elect George Marquez.
Imperial County has been one of the places that have been impacted by COVID-19 having senior citizens being the most affected.
Dr. Vo, a Calexico Rotarian, and his team have a solid and systematic delivery system in place that consists of 50 volunteers, 12 routes providing 60 meals a day, seven days a week. Three of those routes are in Calexico with emphasis on senior citizens, COVID-19 patients, and keeping everyone at home.
The Calexico Rotary Club continues to be active during the pandemic by helping the most vulnerable. Calexico Rotary donated sanitizing supplies to the first responders of the Calexico Fire and Police Department and to senior citizens that live on retirement homes.
