The most anticipated event in the year in Calexico took place Dec. 14 as the annual Christmas Parade took place in downtown all the way to Rockwood Park. Service clubs, schools, boxing academies, and other local businesses paraded before their community waving at the people and thus culminating a successful year of work and wish everyone a good year and a better new year.
Around 70 participants joined the parade as thousands of people crowded the streets of Calexico filled by family and friends that proudly saw their child walk the streets.
The Calexico Christmas parade takes place every second Saturday in December. For those that participate, there is a special feeling as they have the opportunity to see the community they grew up with together united and waving at them which feels like a “thank you” for all the good moments of the year.
The parade also helps local businesses since a great majority of the people attend the parade shop for the holiday season.
