Business Advisory Council Created by the XXV Tijuana City Council Holds Session

The Business Advisory Council, an initiative promoted by the XXV Tijuana City Council under the leadership of Mayor Ismael Burgueño Ruiz, held a session this Monday at City Hall. The meeting aimed to advance key projects that will generate development, competitiveness, and well-being for the people of Tijuana.

During the session, the mayor emphasized the importance of collaboration between the business sector and the municipal government to transform the city. “Working as a team and in the same direction guarantees results. Everyone, from their position, must contribute efforts for the common good,” said Burgueño, who offered technical support from the City Hall to accelerate the discussed projects.

In his remarks, Pedro Alejandro Montejo Peterson, Secretary of Municipal Economic Development (SEDETI), emphasized that the meeting was crucial for establishing agreements and designing a work plan focused on the city’s progress. Carlos Jaramillo Silva, President of the Business Coordinating Council, reaffirmed his commitment to the economic and social development of Tijuana, noting that unity and teamwork are essential to making the city an international reference.

The Business Advisory Council was created as a permanent space for dialogue between business leaders and municipal authorities. Its purpose is to drive economic development, promote competitiveness, foster innovation, and strengthen infrastructure and public services.

The working groups of the Business Advisory Council are organized into five specialized committees. The Infrastructure and Urban Development Committee is led by Xavier Ibarra Quintana, while Cristina Hermosillo heads the Competitiveness and Economic Development Committee. Luis Lutheroth leads the Humanism and Social Responsibility Committee, Gina Villalobos heads the Regulations and Standards Committee, and Juan Manuel Hernández leads the Security Committee. Each of these teams focuses on key areas to drive Tijuana’s comprehensive development.

Also present at the session were the City Attorney, Teresita de Jesús Balderas Beltrán; the Secretary of Public Safety, Juan Manuel Sánchez Rosales; and the Secretary of Urban, Territorial, and Environmental Development, Virginia Alejandra Vargas González. These officials reaffirmed their commitment to the goals of the Council. The Tijuana City Council also reiterated its willingness to work closely with the business sector to achieve tangible benefits for the entire community
