BINATIONAL AUTHORITIES COORDINATE EFFORTS FOR SAFETY AT BORDER PORTS OF ENTRY

  • Mayor and director of the Municipal Police in Mexicali meet with CBP (Customs and Border Protection) agents

Mexicali, B.C.- Starting the week on Monday, August 15, in order to address security issues that impact the border gate area, the Municipal President Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda and the Director of the Municipal Public Safety Alejandro Lora, had a coordination meeting with CBP (Customs and Border Protection) agents.

During the meeting, the Mayor of Mexicali underlined the importance of joining forces to reinforce the safety in both communities, which have grown as sisters.

In turn, the head of the CBP congratulated the City Mayor for the provision and communication during her period in office, which has prevailed for more than 25 years, there was not such a close relationship, and this has undoubtedly allowed optimizing the safety of border ports of entry.

Present at the meeting were Gregory K. Bovino, Head of the Border Patrol Sector, Sergio Beltrán Director of the Border Guard, Travis S. Darling, Deputy Chief of Border Patrol.
