Due to the quality and preference of visitors, Baja California obtained two awards for Tourism Product Innovation awarded by the Ministry of Tourism of the Government of Mexico and two awards for The Best of Mexico by México Desconocido Magazine, said Governor Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda.
The awards ceremony took place as part of the 48th edition of the Tianguis Turístico which takes place in Acapulco, Guerrero, and includes various aspects related to the tourist experience and innovation to attract visitors and thus well-being for the thousands of families that subsist on tourism.
At the event, in which the Secretary of Tourism of Mexico, Miguel Torruco Marqués, was present, Baja California received the award for Tourism Innovation in Romance Tourism by Bodega Santo Tomás, in Ensenada, as well as in the Tourism category of Health and Wellness for the activities carried out in Rancho La Puerta in the municipality of Tecate.
Additionally, third place was obtained in the Gastronomic Festival category due to the success of the outstanding international event Baja Culinary Fest, which takes place in the city of Tijuana.
The state leader also highlighted the two categories in which Baja California emerged triumphant as part of the Best of Mexico program awarded by México Desconocido Magazine, these being Best Setting to Live an Experience between Taste and Wine and Best State to Discover its Charms on the Road.
The head of the Executive Branch of the State of Baja California highlighted the importance of tourism having an eminently social meaning and not being an elitist activity reserved only for people with more economic resources, for which she signed an agreement with the International Organization of Social Tourism.
The agreement made intends to continue promoting a tourist activity with a social focus that, in addition to bringing all Baja Californians closer to tourism, strategically strengthens the quality of life of thousands of families that subsist on tourism, in the seven municipalities of the state.
On the other hand, Governor Marina del Pilar also signed a letter of intent to collaborate with the airline Volaris, to develop work plans that increase air connectivity in the state, which will detonate tourism and economic activity, resulting in greater well-being and quality of life.
