The 2025 Tianguis Turístico will make history as the first-ever binational event, showcasing the cultural and natural wealth of Mexico and Baja California on a global scale, highlighted Governor Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda and Mexico’s Secretary of Tourism, Miguel Torruco Márquez.
Government officials from all three levels gathered in the municipality of Playas de Rosarito to establish the State Organizing Committee for the 49th edition of the Tianguis Turístico 2025, which will be held in Baja California.
Marina del Pilar expressed her gratitude to President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and Secretary of Tourism Miguel Torruco Márquez for the support received since the state was selected as the host for Latin America’s most important tourism event.
“With this major event, we will promote tourism that respects and values the cultural and natural wealth of our state, which will also bring well-being to everyone, not just a few,” emphasized the governor.
As a result of efforts to boost the state’s tourism development, it has been ensured that port, airport, and road infrastructure are key to fostering the growth of economic and tourism activities, the governor detailed.
“The diversity and quality of our tourism services have earned us multiple awards in tourism innovation and hospitality at the national level. Today, we reaffirm that tourism is a fundamental tool for the development of the most vulnerable communities, which is why I sincerely thank President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and Secretary Miguel Torruco for their love for our state. Love is repaid with love,” she added.
For his part, Secretary of Tourism Miguel Torruco Márquez noted that as a result of the actions taken by Governor Marina del Pilar, a new image of Baja California is emerging, which will positively impact tourism across the country.
“This Tianguis Turístico will mark a milestone in the history of tourism in Mexico, being the first on the border near the most important market. We are going to break the record for attendance by tour operators from the United States, Canada, and Asia Pacific. They will come from all over South America and Europe, but this will present a new challenge and a huge responsibility,” he stated.
In the same vein, Governor Marina del Pilar, along with Secretary Miguel Torruco and the State Secretary of Tourism, Miguel Aguíñiga Rodríguez, delivered ten new units to Ángeles Verdes, bringing the total to 16 renewed vehicles ready to operate in the state.
The state governor added that this delivery fulfills a commitment made with the federal government since Ángeles Verdes is an example of a public service that can transform lives by providing safety and support to tourists.
The Binational Tianguis Turístico will be held at the Baja California Center in Playas de Rosarito from April 28 to May 1, 2025. For more information, visit [this link](https://bajacalifornia.travel/tianguis-turistico/).
