Baja California Government Initiates Efforts to Stabilize The Curve Of Infections By COVID-19

The Government of Baja California, through the Ministry of Health, is making every effort to stabilize the infection curve that is on the rise due to COVID and is reflected by the increase in hospitalizations, intubated and people who go to the Fever Clinics or Family Medicine Units; there are more than 40 neighborhoods with “vulnerability”.

“We will continue in ʼorangeʼ (at the health traffic light) and eventual change color, if we all keep a healthy distance, we use our masks and we begin to have fewer patients. We can achieve this by taking care of ourselves and more now in the winter season,” emphasized the Secretary of Health, Alonso Oscar Pérez Rico.

As every Tuesday, in the live video by Governor Jaime Bonilla Valdez, he presented the geolocation map of active cases, to alert the population about the neighborhoods by the city were “red spots” where the virus has been detected. He pointed out that this indicator has increased in San Felipe and that in the Mexicali Valley “things are being done well.”

The official mentioned that the neighborhoods vulnerable to contagion are

TIJUANA: Camino Verde/Grupo México, Zona Río, Paseos del Vergel, Las Delicias and Villas del Prado 2nd.  Section.

TECATE: Lomas de Santa Anita, Morelos, Luis Donaldo Colosio, Alberto Aldrete, San Fernando, Maclovio Herrera, La Bondad, Benito Juárez, Romero, El Refugio, Colinas del Cuchumá and Expansion Colinas del Cuchumá.

ROSARITO BEACHES: Constitución (Constitución Extension), Centro Carretera, Eduardo Crosthwhite (second section), Anexa Obrera, Rancho Chula Vista, Independencia, Santa Lucía and Plan Libertador.

MEXICALI: Esperanza, Independencia, Villas del Rey Quinta Etapa, Vistahermosa, Pro-Hogar and Jardines del Lago.  In the VALLE DE MEXICALI: Guadalupe Victoria, Delta-Oaxaca, Saltillo and Jiquilpan;  in SAN FELIPE: Verdugo, Los Arcos, Nuevo San Felipe, Second Section, Extension of Second Section, Third Section (Los Gavilanes) and National Agrarian Plan.

ENSENADA: Punta Banda 1, Valle Dorado (Ríos Section), Cuauhtémoc, Granjas El Gallo, Lomitas Indeco 3, Los Encinos 2. While, in SAN QUINTÍN: Nuevo Baja California, Lázaro Cárdenas, San Quintín, May 13 and  Reform.

Pérez Rico reported that Baja California reported 6 new patients who lost the battle to COVID-19 and 78 who tested positive. There are 118 hospitalized people and 156 in the units of the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS).

Regarding patients with automated mechanical ventilation, he explained that there are 86 in the hospitals of the different institutions and that a month ago there were 63, which translates into an increase, although in recent days’ things have stabilized.

Almost at the end of the official’s participation – in the live broadcast – he presented the results of the medical studies carried out every week to Governor Jaime Bonilla Valdez, where Covid and Influenza are negative.

The governor specified that both he and his close collaborators are tested for Covid every week, to take care of themselves and at a given time avoid a possible contagion in days or in daily activities that they develop.

Regarding the figures of people infected by COVID-19 in Baja California, the SISVER (national) platform reports, at the cutoff of October 26, that 38 thousand 781 cases have been studied, of which 21 thousand 737 were positive.
