Art Basel Hong Kong 2025 has concluded, reaffirming the city’s position as a global art hub. The fair brought together 240 galleries from 42 countries and territories, attracting a total attendance of 91,000 across VIP and public days.

Angelle Siyang-Le, Director of Art Basel Hong Kong, highlighted the event’s success in fostering the region’s art ecosystem. “This year’s edition not only featured a diverse and innovative program but also underscored our deep commitment to nurturing Asia’s thriving art scene,” she said.

The fair drew prominent private collectors and art patrons from over 70 countries and territories, including Hong Kong, Mainland China, Korea, the United States, and the United Kingdom. Representatives from major international museums and foundations attended, including the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, Tate Modern in London, and M+ in Hong Kong, further solidifying Art Basel Hong Kong’s role in connecting the global art community.

Sales at the event were strong across all sectors, with significant acquisitions of works by artists such as Yayoi Kusama, Pacita Abad, Tracey Emin, and Zeng Fanzhi. The MGM Discoveries Art Prize, awarded for the first time this year, recognized emerging artist Shin Min for her installation Ew! There is hair in the food!!. The artist and her gallery, P21 (Seoul), received a $50,000 prize and an exhibition opportunity in Macau.

This year’s Conversations program featured performances by artists including Pedro Wondeamirri and Mayunkiki, while the Encounters sector showcased large-scale installations, notably Monster Chetwynd’s Lanternfly Ballet. Digital innovation was a major theme, with the Digital Dialogues series exploring the intersection of art and technology.

Art Basel Hong Kong took place at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from March 28 to 30, with preview days on March 26 and 27. The next edition is scheduled for March 27 to 29, 2026.
