A successful vaccine would bring economic recovery in the United States and a positive economic impact for BC and Mexico in 2021

  • The economy can recover to its pre-pandemic level by the end of 2021 in the United States.
  • Mexico may take a little longer to recover economically.

The growth of the United States economy in 2021 may have a positive impact on the Baja California economy.

The United States begins the largest vaccination operation in its history with the definitive authorization of the vaccine supply.

The great campaign begins where private companies, the 50 states and the Armed Forces aim to vaccinate 80% of the population by June 2021.

“The successful vaccination operation can have a positive effect on the growth of the United States economy in 2021 and in turn will have a positive impact on the economy of Baja California and Mexico,” said Dr. Alejandro Díaz Bautista, international economist, as well as a research professor at the Northern Border College (Colef).

The government of Mexico approved the emergency use of Pfizer’s vaccine against the Covid-19 coronavirus during December 2020.

The Mexican government has authorized vaccination throughout the country, including BC. In this way, Mexico becomes the first country in Latin America to authorize the emergency use of the Pfizer vaccine.

The director of the US Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has issued final authorization for the supply of the Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine in the United States to persons 16 years of age and older.

This official CDC recommendation comes after the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) authorized the emergency use of Pfizer’s vaccine in the United States.

Coronavirus cases continue to rise in the United States, so the CDC recommendation comes at a time of health and economic emergency during December 2020.

The US economy is very weak at the end of 2020, but it may regain its pre-pandemic strength by the second half of 2021 as the coronavirus vaccine begins to be distributed and applied.

The possibility that one or more versions of the vaccine will be available in the short term has driven positive expectations for the economy during 2021 in the United States.

Millions of vaccines against the Covid-19 coronavirus, which have been stored at -70 ° C on dry ice, are being shipped to every state in the United States.

There is a gigantic and historic logistics distribution operation that started with the objective of administering the first doses of the vaccine in a matter of hours.

The deployment of vaccine distribution reflects the urgency in the world’s leading economic power, the United States, where it is estimated that at least 300,000 people have died from the new coronavirus during 2021.
