GOVERNOR FRANCISCO VEGA SPEAKS WITH HONDURAS AMBASSADOR IN MEXICO, ALDEN RIVERA

  • The diplomat informed the State Representative of the status of services offered by the Mobile Consulate of Honduras in Tijuana

TIJUANA, BC.- The State Governor, Francisco Vega de Lamadrid, held a meeting Tuesday with the Ambassador of Honduras in Mexico, Alden Rivera Montes, who informed the governor of the scope of services offered by the Mobile Consulate of Honduras in Tijuana, enabled after the arrival of the migrant Caravan to this entity.

The Secretary-General of Government, Francisco Rueda Gómez, informed that this meeting between state authorities and the Central American diplomat was carried out to review and monitor the situation that prevails over the extraordinary migratory phenomenon that Baja California is going through.

The state official reiterated that the Administration headed by Governor Francisco Vega will provide all the facilities for the Mobile Consulate of Honduras in Tijuana to continue operating until it is necessary.

Among the services offered with the support of the three levels of government and the participation of the Embassy of Honduras in Mexico, are the legal assistance for the procedures that migrants seek to carry out before the North American authority, as well as the support for the assisted return of Honduran migrants who want to return to their country.

Finally, Secretary Rueda mentioned that they agreed to meet with staff from the Embassy of Honduras, as many times as necessary, to follow up on this important issue that has to do with the attention of the members of the migrant caravan, who are mostly Hondurans, as well as from other nationalities.
