A further generation of students concludes their university studies and a community of more than 35,000 CETYS Alumni is added.
Mexicali B.C.- The training of human talent that positively impacts their community and that are able to innovate reflecting trends according to their field of knowledge is part of the mission of CETYS University.
In that sense, CETYS University delivered yesterday 294 students of its Mexicali Campus who graduated from the different degree programs, which are added to the largest generation in the history of the CETYS System consisting of 2 thousand students in its three levels, High School, professional and postgraduate.
The winners received their certificate from the President/Superintendent, Dr. Fernando León García, who took a protest to the fifty-eighth generation of Professionals, after delivering a message.
In this sense, Dr. Fernando León García, President of the CETYS University System, shared that international mobility through Exchange Programs; Double Degrees with City University of Seattle, Washington; Quarterly Courses Abroad; Study trips and others made it possible for 58% of the graduates at the Mexicali Campus who graduated to live an international academic experience in countries such as: The United States, Spain, China, Chile, France, Japan, Taiwan and Italy, to name a few.
León García added that this generation is made up of 59% men and 41% women. “With this generation, we reaffirm the commitment to strengthen leadership skills with international vision in those who graduate today, thanks to an intense effort that opens new horizons and reinforces preparation of our students more, “ said the President.
During the ceremony, 29 young people who studied a Double Degree at City University of Seattle, Washington, received the degree that accredits them professionally in both Mexico and the United States. On the part of the American institution, it was Dr. Kurt Kirstein, Academic Vice-Chancellor of City University who delivered the documents.
For her part, Bachelor’s in Law Irma Lorena Briones Chávez, representing the graduates, addressed a message to all her classmates: “Today, officially came the day to say goodbye to the university, and if there is a moment in which we can feel truly proud is now, because we recognize the effort and work done over the years in our Alma Mater, ” she said.
The lawyer exhorted her colleagues to be responsible and committed to their professions, as well as to be agents of change because nobody else will do it for us. “But let’s not fear the uncertainty of tomorrow. Not only because we are perfectly capable of achieving great things. But because CETYS gave us the necessary tools to go out into the world and be agents of change,” said Briones Chavez.
It is worth mentioning that, of all graduates, more than 166 lived some type of academic exchange around the world. 63 received the Outstanding Performance Testimony for obtaining the best results in all the areas examined in the General Graduation Exam, promoted by the National Center for Higher Education Evaluation (CENEVAL).
In the event, the Honor Medal was awarded to the best student of each program during the school year, and the Honorable Mention to the brightest students, who excelled during their degree program in various fields.
